Powering your future
BV Electric, a locally owned and operated Electrical contractor, considers Community giving a core business value. Most recently the company committed bursary funding to Coast Mountain College for students in financial need.
Foundation students studying the electrical trade at any of CMC's nine regional campuses are invited to apply for the newly established Award, affectionately titled the Powering your Future award.
“We hope that over years this award will help the future electrical workforce grow and succeed in Northern BC,” says Philippe Bernier, Director of Community Relations and Business Development at BV Electric.
Every award applicant is asked to submit a 300 word essay on community involvement and career goals. This is to ensure the award is given to a student with similar values as BV Electric, which identifies “supporting local communities,” as a core business value.
The award was created out of sposnorship for the annual CMTN Foundation golf tournament.
“Coast Mountain College appreciates the generosity of our sponsors,” says Brian Badge, Director of College Advancement at NWCC. “Hosting events like the golf scramble give us an opportunity to say thank you, while enjoying the company of those who continue to support our students.”
