Old Crow Battery Energy Storage System
BV Electric was contracted for the installation of the Battery Energy Storage System in Old Crow, YT. This project is part of the completion for the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation (VGFN) Solar project phase 2. The solar project will reduce the amount of diesel burned to generate electricity for Old Crow by 190,000 litres each year once it is fully operational. This reduction is the equivalent of taking 160 cars off the road and it will reduce the community’s annual carbon emissions by 750 tonnes annually. We were successful in completing our scope of work August 2021 and are proud to have contributed to the clean energy transition for VGFN community.
