Forrest Kerr Hydroelectric Project

BV Electric is proud to have been Forrest Kerr’s primary electrical contractor from the start of construction in 2010 until the end of commissioning in the summer of 2014. BV Electric’s contributions at Forrest Kerr include the design, layout, and installation of a complete electrical system for a 400 man construction camp. The camp includes two 450KW, one 500KW and one 600V generators. The camp also has waste water and water treatment equipment, a modular kitchen and connecting dorms, a fuel farm, and a propane delivery system. With all electrical infrastructure energized for the camp, BV Electric then managed the complete installation of all electrical systems associated with Forrest Kerr’s Switchyard, Powerhouse, and Intake. The 725 million dollar project was successfully commissioned in July of 2014, on time and budget. Clean Energy BC has recognized Forest Kerr as the Project of the Year.

In addition, Clean Energy BC has selected Forest Kerr as the 2014 winner of their prestigious award for Project Excellence.
